In masterplan 1,it aims to intensify the connection between the pupils and teachers to the rest of the world.It acts as a tool where students and teachers can obtained and benefit from informations and opinions from across the world and not be restricted to just those obtained in the classroom.
It also aims to create new pedagogies to teach a certain subject.With the masterplan 1,students will also learnt values such as thinking out of the box and to be accountable for the decision they make.Having the masterplan 1,it also aims to achieve a system that can perform in the best possible manner it could and be able to accomplish things easily.
For masterplan 2,it aims to use ICT as tool where students competency and requirements could be met and stretch to create a community that is always finding ways for improvements.Masterplan 2 aims to provide the neccessity that the school needs to achive the desired outcome.
Masterplan 3 goals would be to sustain the aims of the first two masterplans to improve and change the conditions of learning and provide the necessary information and awareness of a subject.
It is imporatant for moe to develop them so that singapore would not be left out by the rest of the world in this rapidly changing time where technology have taken over most of the operations that use to be done manually.For Singapore who does not have much resources can only depend on its human reasources.Therefore improving her people knowledge and abilities would be of most importance so that she would not be diregarded by other countries.
2.Has any of the masterplans impacted you as a student? Share your experince on how the ICT had been use in the classes you attended as a student?
As a student ,I would remember being excited for ICT lessons.When the teacher told us that we would be going to the computer lab,the whole class will cheer. Using ICT in the lesson taught was a good way to make me become excited about learning as it gives me an alternative way of learning besides learning from the usual textbooks provided. Becoming excited about learning make it easier to understand the subject taught as the fun way of teaching it to me made me interested to know and learnt.
There was a lesson where the teacher asked us to create a podcast for my our general paper subject.I had fun learning how to use the movie maker to edit our podcast.It was interesting to listen to my friends podcast as well.
3.How do you think the masterplan 3 for the ICT in education may affect your role(s) as a beginning teacher?
I will have to think of new ways to inculcatet ICT in my lesson plan in an interesting and meaningful manner for the students. As students become rapidly more aware of the use of ICT,I would also have to improve my knowledge and skills in the aspect.This would mean that I would have to go for courses and always be up to date with the new gadgets and software available to be able to strtech the students further in this field.
